Angi, Thumbtack and HomeAdvisor charge contractors per lead whether the job closes or not. TradeDeck doesn't sell leads at all — posting a job and applying to one are both free.
Transparency runs both ways
Homeowners see contractor and worker tiers. Contractors see worker tiers. Workers see who they'd be working for. Nobody is bidding blind.

We're building milestone escrow: funds held against a draw schedule and released when the work is signed off, so homeowners aren't prepaying strangers and crews aren't chasing checks.
How a job runs, start to finish
Post the scope
Trade, city, county, scope and budget. Optionally split the budget into milestone draws that must total 100%.
Review who applies
Every applicant carries a tier built from jobs completed, timeline adherence, cost variance against their bid, and site-cleanliness sign-offs — not from who bought ads.
Fund the first draw (coming soon)
Once escrow launches, money moves into escrow and the crew starts knowing the funds for that milestone already exist.
Submit, approve, release
Crew submits milestone photos, the owner approves, and with escrow the draw releases. Repeat until the job closes out.
Reviews here are optional and never nagged for. A three-question close-out — on time? site left clean? would hire again? — quietly feeds the tier score. A written review is opt-in, and because it's voluntary it carries more weight.

What does TradeDeck cost?
Posting a job, applying to a job, and browsing the worker directory are free. Once escrow launches, TradeDeck will make money on escrow processing, not on selling your contact details to five contractors at once. See pricing.
How is escrow actually held?
Escrow is launching soon. It will run through Stripe: funds for a milestone are authorised and held against that draw, then released to the worker's connected account on approval. TradeDeck never takes custody of the money itself. More on the escrow page.
What if the work isn't right?
A draw stays unreleased until the owner approves it. If a milestone is disputed, the funds stay put while it's worked out — which is exactly the leverage a homeowner loses the moment they prepay.
Can I contact a worker directly?
Yes. TradeDeck doesn't gatekeep communication or mask phone numbers. Once you're connected on a job you deal with each other directly.
Is TradeDeck only in Utah?
For now, yes — Utah is where the crews, the permit data and the verification sources are. Statewide coverage first, other states later.
